Flowers at the Funeral - Yes or No?

Over the years numerous people have told us that they would rather have donations made to charity than flowers at their funeral.

It does not mean that there will be no flowers at the funeral, just that floral tributes are limited to immediate family and others are invited to make a donation to charity.

All donations that the hospice receives are recorded to the memory of your loved one and are acknowledged with a personal thank you letter.

We have arranged with Eltham Crematorium for a card to be displayed with the tributes they receive to advise the mourners that their donations have been received by the Hospice.

The plaque reads as follows:

By asking family and friends to make donations to the hospice instead of sending flowers is a wonderful way to help make a difference to the lives of those suffering with a life limiting illness and their families, now and in the future. What better tribute to a loved ones life and memory!

If a loved one has died and you would like Greenwich & Bexley Cottage Hospice to receive donations in lieu of floral tributes, please contact us for a supply of personal in memoriam donation envelopes

These can be obtained by telephoning Income Generation Department on 020 8312 2244

or

email info@gbch.org.uk
