Counselling Services - Chaplaincy
Team
Ministers
from local Churches, representing a number of denominations, work
together to provide support and guidance to patients, staff and
visitors.

The Chaplains
are part of the Hospice team and many people find it helpful to
have someone to talk to when they are facing issues about life and
death. The Chaplains are available to talk to whenever you
feel you would like to.
Although
the Chaplains represent the Christian community, we at the Hospice
acknowledge the variety of faiths within our community. A
list of contacts for these communities is maintained and can be
accessed by speaking with a member of the Chaplaincy Team or Nursing
Staff.
Each Tuesday
morning at 11am a service is held in the Prayer Room which is located
next to Family Room. Everyone is invited to attend and
should a patient have particular needs, services can be arranged
at other times.
We
also offer:
- Holy Communion
- Personal Prayers
- Prayers at the bedside
- Special services
Please
speak with the duty Chaplain (details can be found on the
notice board outside the Family Room) or nurse in charge
to make the necessary arrangements.
If
it is important to you, then it is important to us and we
will do our best to meet the need, whatever it is.
In
the Prayer Room you will find a selection of cards with
verses on. Please help yourself to these if you find
them helpful.
There
is a prayer book left open on the table. If you would
like to write a prayer or requests for prayers in the book,
please do so.
At
the Tuesday service we always pray for those whose names
are there.
If
you would like to listen to some soothing music you will
also find a stereo unit, along with some tapes.
Please
feel free to use it if you wish, but please keep the volume
to a level that does not disturb anyone else.
